Boring Repetition Made Easy: Days & Months Mazes

Even when you think your student has the days and months down cold, a week or two later, they can’t remember if Wednesday or Thursday is the day before Friday.  How can we improve this? Repitition, repitition, repitition.  The result?  Boring, boring, boring.  So here’s how you get your student to repeat the days and months to himself or herself over and over without losing steam.

The Idea: give out a maze that’s super difficult to do on its own, but drop breadcrumbs that make it super easy if you know your days or months.

  1. PDF Maze: Days of the Week
  2. PDF Maze: Months of the Year

I know I’m probably not the first person to come up with this idea, but just watch your students while they’re trying to solve the maze.  They will be repeating the days of the week and months of the year in order one by one, and not even notice they are doing it.

These are fantastic worksheets! I’ve been wracking my brain for a way to get my students to practise these, and have ended up with boring, boring stuff.

These worksheets should work a treat. Thanks!
